Committee function

This committee has the function to visit members who are in the hospital, nursing homes or confined to their homes.  The committee shall strive to enlist in these efforts as many members as possible.  In addition, the committee shall oversee the Stephen Ministry program and organize communions for the homebound and tape ministry.

Audio copies of worship services  A Service is being recorded on a CD-ROM each Sunday. The CDs are being loaned to Shut-ins or anyone else who to anyone who would like to listen to the service again in their own home. The CDs are in a marked , brown notebook on the shelf near the office door. Please return the CD after you are done with it so someone else may borrow that CD. Additional portable CD players are needed to share with our shut-ins. Call Joyce Weise at 223-7483 if you have a CD player.

Our devoted members continue to give unselfishly of themselves to visit our shut-ins. In April, 8 members of our committee made visits to 13 shut-ins. The blessings flow from God to every person involved.

   * The CD ministry is trying to get off the ground. To date, 4 shut-ins have requested a copy of  the Sunday service.

      We need a minimum of 3 players to accommodate these needs; probably more in the future.

   * Patti Leibenguth has asked to join our team. We welcome her with much enthusiasm!

   * For some unknown reason some contents of our communion kits are disappearing. Upon inquiry, no one offers  any explanation.

     I have had to replace some items.

In October, six members of our committee visited 12 congregation members who are

home bound.

The core committee to develop small group ministry has been meeting regularly. Once in place, the focus of the groups will be prayer,

Biblical reflection, mutual support & group ministry. The main goal will be to center around Jesus and to develop closer relationships with

each other. As plans develop, reports will be made to the Council and congregation.
