Fellowship Committee

Committee function

This committee shall promote and encourage fellowship among the members.  The committee will assist organizations of the congregation and other committees in meal events, prepublication of material, retreats, camping and any other events that encourage the fellowship and spiritual growth of the members.

2007-2008 Barb Graf, Chair

.

From the July 2007 Bethlehem Star

The Fellowship Team is seeking more members. What does Fellowship cover? Well, in researching the Constitutional charge and organizational structure, the Fellowship Team covers dinners, retreats, coffees, and WELCA. Jackie and Jim Bowlby have agreed to head up meals; WELCA is already a well tuned organizatjon, with four general meetings during the year and three Circles that meet monthly for Bible study and business, plus the Tuesday morning quilting group (LWR) and ACTION group (providing pads for LSS Homes) and the women who knit or crochet for the mitten tree project; the Funeral Luncheon Committee, under the leadership of Judy Fenton-is always ready on short notice to minister to grieving families by providing a meal after a memorial service. Other events that fall under this umbrella include hospitality for Great Lakes Theological Academy, special events (the ice-cream social, August 15, the Sept 9 welcoming picnic for Bishop-Elect John Schlecher and other events as they occur).

Fellowship Committee will also be initiating activities for FELLOWSHIP & FUN-above and beyond the normal 'duties' but rather-:iust because, good fellowship is a good and healthy thing! With just a little brainstorming. many ideas are offered: attend a Beach Bum game-go canoeing.-have a progressive dinner, etc. etc. etc. Sound like something YOU would like to be involved in? Contact Barb Graf at kestrel@charter.net . Participation does not require a five year commitment (or even ONE year!) it is not recorded in concrete or written in blood! So fear not-5tep forward and join the fellowship you just might have fun!
