From the President of our Congregation:
Again I can write a note about good things happening at Bethlehem.
The Call Committee of twelve people has been formed and they have had their first meeting. About half of the committee volunteered without being asked individually and the other half chose to say yes when asked on the telephone. The committee I believe represents a good cross section of the congregation with six men and six women including one youth. They represent about seventeen different groups within the church. The committee will meet with the Bishop on Sunday, February 28, where he will explain the call process and answer any questions they may have. One of their first tasks is to complete a Ministry Site Profile and will be engaging the congregation in this effort. Please participate so the Profile can be completed with the greatest possible input from you. While we cannot rush the process I am confident the committee will work diligently under the leadership of Chairperson Bill Froehlich and will complete the call process as quickly as possible. Please keep them and their work in your prayers.
Another exciting happening at Bethlehem is the Ministry Fair this weekend, Sunday, February 28, from 9:15am to 10:15am. Please visit the Fair and see all the things that are happening at Bethlehem throughout the year. Bethlehem is not just a building but it is rather the people that do the work. Please visit all the tables and see where you can make a good activity even better by adding your skills, talents, abilities, and time to those who make the activity function now. I think those who are involved will tell you that the new friends they make and the fun and fellowship they enjoy is worth the effort and that their time is well spent, benefiting both them and those they serve. Pray for all the ministries of Bethlehem, those who serve, and those who are served.
